The owners brought the dog to us, asked to take it for overexposure and promised that as soon as the construction of their house was completed, they would definitely take the animal and thank us for our help.
We were asked to look after the Doberman girl for only a few months, because the construction of the house, according to the owners, was close to the final stage. We took the dog, exchanged phone numbers with its owner.
No one came back for Dayan, the phone turned out to be fake, as was the address, so the dog remained in overexposure.
We constantly tried to find new owners for Dayan, but people were afraid to take an adult Doberman, although the dog has a calm character, she is smart and obedient.
The dog did not look sick, but her mood changed often, so it was decided to take her to the vet. At the first examination, the doctor could not tell us whether the dog was sterilized or not, because the seam was not noticeable, and they did not do an ultrasound. The veterinarian considered the dog healthy, just in case, he only advised giving her vitamins.
6 months later, the mood problems still remained. One day, a friend of mine, who was studying to be a veterinarian for the third year, came to visit us. When she learned about Dayan’s problem, she suggested that the dog had oncology. We could not believe it for a long time, but in the end we had to accept the situation. She was about 10 years old, inside it was impossible to feel the scar from sterilization, but the tumors were clearly palpable, there were many of them, and after checking it turned out that they were malignant.
It took 4 years to remove the tumors and complex treatment, but it gave a result. Dayan became more active.
The joy was short-lived, apathy and bad mood soon returned. Dayan needs to be taken to Perm for examination, but we have problems with transport. 4 hours in the train one way the dog will not survive.
As a temporary measure, the doctor prescribed probiotics and hormones, but as soon as Dayan gets better, she still needs to be taken to the clinic for an examination.
Dayan is no longer young, she will not be able to find a new home, we want to let her live the rest of the time without suffering from pain.
