At 6 months this kitten ended up in a shelter in New York. The owners decided to get rid of the animal due to a rare genetic mutation. The disease did not prevent the kitten from living a full life, but changed its appearance, making it not very attractive.
The kitten, named Maverky, had an unusual flat face and eyes that looked in opposite directions. The kitten also had a mild form of hydrocephalus. more than the unusual appearance of the new ward of the shelter staff, I was surprised by his character — they had never had such a friendly and sociable kitten.
Maverick could not stay long in the shelter, so the staff began to look for a new place for him. The kitten agreed to accept an organization that dealt with the treatment and overexposure of animals with similar diseases. The organization accepts such animals on a permanent basis, here they live all their lives, receiving care and proper care.
Although the disease does not prevent Maverick from living a full life, he still needs specific care. Due to the structure of the muzzle, the kitten has impaired vision and breathing, although problems with the latter appear only when the baby runs too fast.
Maverick turned out to be a very cheerful and happy kitten who does not pay attention to his own features. He loves to play with other animals and climb into people’s arms. This little one needs a lot of attention and in his new home he gets it in abundance.
