This story took place in the city of Smolensk. I met her on my birthday. There is a ravine in our city, on it there is the Devil’s Bridge. Recently, a well-fed red cat appeared there.
She sat by the road in any weather. The cat was soaked to the skin, it was flowing from the eyes. Sometimes the cat was fed. Also, there was a trash can nearby, mostly the poor fellow got food there. The cat had a big belly. She was waiting for the kids, who were soon to be born. My friend saw her. She was the one who told me about the cat.
She couldn’t take it. Walked and fed until the kitty began to be given into her hands. It was impossible to throw it, stray dogs were running nearby, which could show aggression towards the cat.
People said that the owner of the cat died. The daughter sold the house to people who had a dog. He reacted unkindly to the new guest. At first, the cat lived in a barn, but soon she was kicked out of there too.
On my birthday, a friend called me and said she didn’t know what to do with the cat. they are not allowed to go home with her. I had to follow her. This redbone was my gift.
The first thing I did was take her to the doctor. They did an ultrasound. The doctor said that the birth is in about 1.5 weeks. It have to give birth, what can we do.
I named my gift Manya. The veterinarian recommended good nutrition and an abundance of vitamins in the diet to the expectant mother. Drops were prescribed for the eyes, antibiotics cannot be prescribed yet.
Together with Manya, I now have a hundred cats and two dogs. There is very little money for food and medicine, but we have to look for a way out. I could not leave the cat in such a situation. Her eyes just haunted me.
